Digital Glendale Shoals collects and provides access to photographs, plans, and documents pertaining to the formation of the Wofford College Environmental Studies program and Goodall Environmental Studies Center at Glendale Shoals. The center, overlooking the Lawson’s Fork of the Pacolet River and set in the historic textile mill town of Glendale, is the hub of activities for the Wofford College Environmental Studies program. From the vantage point of this restored mill building, students have on-the-ground, real-time interactions with the natural and cultural issues they read about in the classroom. As the Digital Glendale Shoals collection grows, it will showcase student research projects, as well as materials from the College’s Archives and Special Collections related to the area. Community members can also share their stories and photos on Digital Glendale Shoals.
